Astro 7.4 ships experimental parallel prerendering. I tried it on the Astro docs (6,358 pages): build time went from 67s to 37s, 45% faster. 🚀

Don't we all want a @github.com Inbox zero? Especially now where issues an PRs are being raised left and right. @fancypenguin.party will tell us how he reached that goal in "How We Drove @astro.build's GitHub Issues to Zero" 🎉 @ViteConf 2026, Thu 15 Oct, 14:00 UTC. Free and online. viteconf.org

Designing software that agents can operate and designing software that incorporates / embeds agents are two very different engineering problems, and I'm convinced that the former is the more durable long-term investment for infrastructure projects.

Why is it that when you're in the pasta aisle at the grocery and you see the brands in the bag (vs a box) and you think "oh this must be premium"?

💡 One underrated benefit of AI: it can operationalize (cognitive) empathy. Hear me out. Most people struggle to see things from someone else's perspective. So many biases in the way: confirmation bias, curse of knowledge, etc. [1/2]

It's not obvious to everyone still today to run a build inside of an agent environment, so spelling it out helps paint the picture of how this will be useful to them. Also, if I had excluded that part, this would not have gotten 1/4th the engagement.

Coming soon to @astro.build we're adding a --timings flag you can have your agents run to figure out what is slowing down your build, and have it fix it.

Wifi, Bluetooth, volume, printing, notifications apps (among others). Also includes a DBus service for LLM access, meaning desktop apps can use AI features (the email client has opt-in message categorization for ex). WIP.

I'm going to be launching something pretty big next week, which just happens to include a new atproto AppView, labeler, blob proxy, lexicons. It will have tens of thousands of users, most of whom won't even know they're using atproto, or have even heard of it.

It's not about any particular feature, it's more about why abandon 40+ years of word processor innovation for a shittier word processor. People act like word processors are complicated but it's just some xml files in a zip.

You can just not use features that don't translate to HTML. Not even sure what those things are, but are niche.

Yeah but why should I use them and not a word processor. Markdown editors don't have comments. Why use a lesser thing.

Books are written in word, not markdown. I don't know why writing a short article shouldn't involve basic niceties.

Why don't most of us author blog posts as word document (like .odt) files? Why do people prefer markdown? I don't get it.

The code needed to create a JavaScript plugin in Biome

import { ast, defineRule, registerDiagnostic } from "@biomejs/runtime/plugin";
export const useMyPlugin = defineRule({
	query: ast("JS_MODULE"),
	run(root) {
		registerDiagnostic(root, "information", "Hello, world!");

Is EmDash ready for production? The Cloudflare blog moved to EmDash, and then handled a busy Agents Week and a DDoS thrown in for good measure, without batting an eyelid. The team has written up how they did it.
