I just think of the people I've interviewed who are struggling with housing costs, rising food costs, going to food banks and working multiple jobs. Being able to get your kid a little toy or buy them a new pair of shoes or have a nice Christmas was one of the few luxuries people had

Bessent says on CNBC that China will come to the table because tariffs are "unsustainable" for China and its whole business model is based on selling cheap goods to the U.S. But China has been moving away from the US. Now, 15% of its exports go to US and about 3% of GDP comes from US exports.
