Did a re-clean just a couple weeks ago. Some of it is persisting sadly. It may only last one more cleaning or so before I need to purchase. Also, get headphones with cloth muffs. These make it far easier to clean, and comfortable for all-day use with writing or coding.

As someone who's coded over a dozen Blender add-ons, ironically I don't use many on a regular basis. Some of those are my own, plus a few paid ones, but otherwise I'm a pretty lean Blender user.

Light Painter add-on is getting a UI facelift, with more native-looking keyboard controls in the status bar and property amounts in the tool header area! Currently in review, hoping to get it out in the week. Really excited for this, as it feels much more "Blender-like." #b3d

Thanks to a fellow Blender add-on developer, I learned I can now add icons and keyboard shortcuts to the status bar. Light Painter add-on can feel like a "real" add-on now! 😛

I timed reloading 64 Blender add-ons. My slowest add-ons were big ones: Rigify, Font Selector, Cloud Rig, Poliigon, Flamenco. But most took <60ms each to reload. Enabling all 64 only took 3 seconds total. The slowest add-on, Rigify, was half a second. #b3d #Blender3d #Python

I've always missed in Blender a tool to align and distribute mesh objects. Something like what vector graphics editing software has, but in 3D. So I learned and coded it myself. 😊 #Blender3d

A 3D artist I know cynically joked that people have babies as an excuse to not get anything done. It made me reflect about fatherhood in a digital world, overly focused on productivity and efficiency. Despite the whirlwind that is parenting, nothing in my life so far has been more fulfilling.

I got to talk to someone about the Discord news, #FOSS, my slow process of migrating apps/platforms/workflows over to it. I felt so glad many apps I regularly use are FOSS. I'm no purist, and I don't think most can attempt it "cold turkey." But it has definitely simplified my computer usage.
