I'll try to have a more substantial write up for Patreon tomorrow, but the next video will be on Shuumatsu no Sugoshikata. I feel many things and have many thoughts, but my overwhelming sentiment is that "we're going to be okay in the end"

It's really fuckin' hard to get reminded of all the men in your life who claimed to be on the side of women and claimed to agree with you only to show they only care about progressive causes in-as-far as it offers a chance for them to toy with you and request to be absolved of their bullshit.

-other people in this nebulous field of influencer/writer/etc and lately I've felt an even stronger drive to keep myself isolated. I've really wondered who and what I'm writing for when so many people who claim to care about victims show that they legitimately do not want to listen to us.

I also don't want to say much about it because it's not my place as a completely detached fourth party, but the entire situation with a certain games writer has made me really question what the hell I'm even doing in this space and feel very isolated. I already have very little communication with-

Sorry for the lack of activity these last two weeks, finishing up the semester in cram school has been tough and the election results haven't been great for me mentally. Like back in 2024, I've been re-evaluating what I want to do and talk about with my videos given everything.

I'll try to write up a new patreon post today or tomorrow, and work on the new video will start soon. School is calming down since it's just revision time before the exams so hopefully I'll be able to get one last video out before the end of the year.

Actually it might have been between knee height and ankle height, I'm not sure, sorry that I was so focused on escaping being in a flash flood and not dying that I forgot to bring my handy dandy ruler with me to make measurements for later posting on bsky.app

Also gotta say the experience of driving through ankle high water and watching your wheels splash it around everywhere like a kid in a swimming pool is really amusing, if not extremely terifying

Got caught in a flash flood riding home from therapy yesterday, fell 100m from my parking garage (with no injuries or motorcycle damage). I was kinda upset in the moment but now I just find the bad luck funny, I managed the whole ride home only to get wrecked by a gust of wind and inclined street.

I feel like it’s hard to express to people who got online after a certain era that culture wasn’t this conservative and censorious once upon a time. I mean, modern social media platforms are harsher on a lot of content than broadcast TV and magazines used to be.

I'm glad I'm riding again (and have been since August) despite everything that happened. I think driving around the different cities, even when it's just to grab paperwork or whatever, has really helped me keep my sanity. I'd rather be mad about shitty traffic than think about the elections.

Baffled st1ka's video isn't doing better. There use to be a time where if someone went "Here's everything to know about this hyper specific thing" it would be on the front page of Youtube. Now people go "Every eva game? So what." Did the bar go higher or does this kind of video no longer work?

A reminder that, shockingly enough, ~55% of the 3DO's official catalog of games were Japan-exclusive. No, it's not like the 3DO sold shockingly well in Japan (it only totaled 2 million consoles sold, worldwide), but the cheap licensing costs The 3DO Company had seemingly enticed a bunch of JP devs.
