I was a senior in high school when Matthew Shepard was murdered. I was still closeted/in denial at the time. A couple of months before I turned 21, I had a dream about him in which he said “Don’t worry, kiddo, it’s going to be ok”. Three weeks before I turned 21 I finally accepted that I was gay.

The key change needs to be that a leader can be followed. A leader needs to nail their colours to the mast. A democratic leader needs to say if 4 out of 5 democratically elected MPs dont back a policy, it does not become policy. The mandate to govern comes from the electorate, not a backroom cabal.💚

The military doctors and nurses who save even their enemies demonstrate extraordinary moral courage.
