I've been taking a hiatus from social media to focus on myself and my ideas; it has been difficult but useful to figure out where I'm going. Also, I got my Boris plushie a while back but never posted it online. Please support @bengthomas.bsky.social and 7 Days Of Science channel on YouTube.

I'm hoping that by interacting with people online, I can get feedback on various concepts and inspiration in so that I can develop my projects beyond just vague ideas. Obviously not every idea will work, and I will have to make some tough decisions to get into the right direction.

I'm determined to least make something of them instead of getting disheartened though because I cannot keep getting into this constant loop of idea, experimenting, doubt and scrapping it... To only repeat the process in some sisyphean creative curse. I can't go back to that anymore.

With how Twitter/X is now though, I should consider putting in the effort of posting my ideas and work onto here more often. As well as my Tumblr side blogs. Part of me is nervous to see how people will react to my projects; that they'd be too off putting or weird to get anyone interested.

Honestly, I've been thinking the same thing. Although, I have been eating more dried fruit instead. Both me and my mum changed our diet to be more healthy. (In the latter's case, it was a necessity.) Now, I tend to find some chocolates or chocolate-related foods too sweet.

It's hard not to feel depressed or anxious about this and other matters. I'm trying not to doomscroll; curate my time online; but it's become harder to not feel helpless with how things are going right now. (My moments of anxiety aren't helping.) I'm hoping things will improve but I've my doubts.

So these things are both true: 1) If you're in the UK you can still post on Bluesky without age verification, and people saying you can't are incorrect 2) the amount of content that will be covered by age verification is overly broad and will be a significant obstacle to UK users.

Among a whole host of other issues, the fact that the UK is bringing in age verification for online activity, as a country that doesn't have a standardised ID system, sucks 🙃 If you don't have the money for a passport or driving license, you're screwed. Unless there's something I'm missing here

I've always had an interest in paleontology since I was little, but I've never felt like I was smart enough to consider taking it on as a career. It didn't help that my own anxieties of leaving home and our financial situation isn't the greatest. Plus, I didn't know what I wanted back then. 1/2
