I think it must be just out. As a committed Ghosh fan quite excited by it. A classic Field Day production with all the production values you would expect. It's right up your street connecting Irish studies with activism

but new questions are being asked which spinoff these debates and allowing us to think about a more complex and contingent eighteenth century. It is a more global space now and more open to comparison and to readings which challenge us to rethink the legacies of Georgian and colonial Ireland today

Reading through the journal and the wider historical literature have been struck by how colleagues have taken on new approaches and fundamentally revised our understanding of the century. We may not all agree on whether Ireland’s a kingdom or a colony or whether there was an Irish enlightenment

This meant a lot because the journal and wider @ecisociety.bsky.social society has helped shape my thinking as an historian since I first published in the journal twenty years ago. its interdisciplinary approach has taught me a lot about how to do history.

Sorry to read this. Nini was researching Irish connections to enslavement and abolition long before anyone else in the field and we all owe her such an enormous debt for doing all that foundational work. It was one of the great, not-heralded-enough, contributions to modern Irish history.
