A long time ago, I recapped and RGB modded this Twin Famicom. For completeness sake, I'm adding some pics of the process in a new thread, so that I can import it to my blog. This is the console post-recap. Look at that belt! Completely hardened and broken.

Pretty sure it was @sparksnzeros.bsky.social that showed one of these being repurposed as a gameboy cart display. At local antique store.

Park the emulator up until I can be bothered to get a spare keyboard out of the shed. Might as well move onto the Dragon. Replace these potentially knackered trimmers.

Tatung Betamax VCR repair thread. It wasn’t to be….but EvRi decided it should be. This is what it’s supposed to look like. Seller also hid a dangerous issue, which I’ll show shortly.

I was never lucky enough to own one of these 'desktop' arcade game clones. I remember being really impressed with Astro Wars, probably because I loved Galaxians!

Boom box conversion thread I can’t call it a repair because it remained in a somewhat broken state compared to new, but you’ll see what I mean Surgery is open.

Since no man is ever happy with 1 PC Engine Duo, I got a second one (also in 2021). Of course this was also going to need to be recapped. Same grimey dust buildup with leakage on this one too. Sadly, that was not the only thing it needed. So, here we go! #retrogaming #pcengine

In 2020 I purchased an OG Xbox on eBay, which looked quite alright, or so I thought... I opened it up and then saw the mess on the second picture. I wondered what the hell had happened to it. Then I got to work on restoring it. #retrogaming #xbox

One failed diode (D1) killed this Super Famicom, no power at all. Swapped it, then a preventative recap of the board and its Satellaview base. Now it runs Zelda and SF2 Turbo on my PVM again. hitmanmcc.com/entry/super-... #retrogaming #SuperFamicom #SNES #consolerepair

This Nintendo Super Famicom (SHVC-001) would not power on due to a failed D1 diode. Tracing and replacing it, plus a recap, had the console booting again.

An early SNES Vince and Larry prototype that I worked on at Software Creations - full of bugs and issues. The game didn't get any further than this and was abandoned. I can't remember the full details. Myself and Lyndon Brooke worked on this for a few weeks and then went to work on other projects.

Based on the last 15 years or so, I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict that I’ll still be able to buy physical copies of newly-released Mega Drive games in 2028. Sega is victorious once again.

Homebrew port of City Connection for the Mega Drive, released in 2023.
