On today's edition of Nature Is Metal, a parasitic wasp thanked me for making my area hospitable to them. They also pollinate my hot peppers!🤘On the flip side, 3 native morning glorys + moonflower & petunias = hawk moth paradise, & the pink ones showed up! 🥲 It's a love/hate relationship now.

I've been pretty down lately. I thought my endocrinologist was doing his due diligence finally, but he flipped on me again. Wouldn't let me speak or give anything other than a y/n answer, accused me of talking him in circles. He twisted my inverted salivary cortisol tests into shift worker disorder.

Not gonna lie, things have been tough lately on multiple levels. But as long as I keep doing a little bit in the garden every day, I'm always given something to appreciate. This hummingbird hawk moth acted like I wasn't even there. There's tons of pumpkins blooming they love to feast upon too.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I finished setting up my garden yesterday, & found out all my melon seeds are bad, hopefully some Alpine strawberries take up the space. The cardinal told me it'll be ok. Now to plant out some extra peppers, tomatoes, okra, & flowers, & break out the fire pit.

My body is absolutely screaming in pain, but my mind is finally simmering down from the stress of the extended cold & rainy weather sabotaging my seedlings. I'm putting some old kiddie pools with the bottom cut out in the center to serve as a raised bed/mound for my squash & melons tomorrow.

My little front garden conveniently faces south along the driveway.

Some of the seedlings & starts that I painstakingly started indoors with a heat mat & grow light. Even petunias!

Commelina Erecta, the Erect Dayflower, another native in the Spiderwort family populating my back yard. I love the ethereal translucent white bottom petal.

Goldbug! So shiny! So clear! Is it just coincidence this guy was on a plant under a gold disco ball decoration?

I understand why people can see the whole "I asked for no pickles" thing as an overreaction, but if you don't like pickles, you really can't "just remove them". The moment pickle juice gets into the bread, or any other condiments, the sandwich is permanently altered. Kinda like hotdog water.
