A full page showing the other side of the book. Text reads: "It is known the preachan traveled to Muileag multiple times, asking for information on the town's swamp monster. They were often said to have appeared to be disgruntled after leaving without having found anything. It was on the last of these trips the Maighstir herself came back with the child who would be known as Yahuul. The Maighstir was said to have claimed that she saved the child from the monster and put the beast to death. There is a correlation between a decrease in missing persons and the child Yahuul's removal from the swamp, however these claims cannot be confirmed or denied." The marginalia is again a bit smudged. It depicts the townspeople thanking the Maighstir, the Maighstir brining Yahuul to the castle, and the Maighstir and Priomh performing some sort of spell on Yahuul, who is laying on a magic circle. Preachan surround them. Marsione's hand is visible again, testing out her ink pen on a scrap page underneath the book.

panel 1: The Maighstir leans down, calmly saying: "Don't worry. I'll make sure this only hurts for a moment, my love." But the text blurs out, Yahuul cannot hear what she's saying.
panel 2: The Maighstir holds Yahuul's face, and moves a knife towards their neck. Yahuul isn't really noticing. The Maighstir is talking, but again, Yahuul can't hear her.
panel 3: The Maighstir slices open Yahuul's neck, spurting bright red blood. Yahuul was caught off-guard.
panel 4: A sort of spirit version of Yahuul, devoid of any distinguishing features besides their hair, floats in a void. They're all red, and their head, hands, and feet are not attached, but float near the body, where they usually would be. A thin vine of what looks like leaves surrounds them.
They reach out towards the vine, which starts to circle more closely around them.
They are overtaken by the vine, which enters Yahuul's spirit body through the gap where their neck would be, and their wrists and ankles.
Little Yahuul wakes with a start and a big gasp. They now have the basbeo ribbon tied around their neck, and there's a lot of blood on their face and shirt, from the neck slicing. Their eyes are now a light yellow green, instead of the pale green they once were.
