official xbox windows media player skin (circa 2003) web.archive.org/web/20030922...

one of those early 2000's media player skins with various curved edges and in this case xbox branding and familiar shades of green. it looks like someone wanted it to look like it came from the future or an alien planet.

The Desert Gunner fights are the one time Crinn really has no answer. Dougram itself is a monster compared to the Shadow Hawk's mediocrity. Thunderbolt/Ironfoot is still a good one though.

Before Portal, there was, well, Portal. Activision's 1986 'computer novel' is one of the examples of the kind of entertainment software being developed for the Commodore Amiga in its first year. High concept, artsy, and tapping into the creativity-focused marketing for the computer.

A scan of the box from Mobygames, with an almost completely glossy black cover and the worlds PORTAL and the computer novel tagline at the top. Ghost-like faces can be seen at the bottom of the cover. In the upper centre: an evocative premise.

Homer, A Biological Computer. The Final Link to the Past and the Only Conduit to the Future. But Homer is dying and access grows weaker moment by moment. Will you discover where everyone has gone or will to the doorway to humanity close forever, leaving you totally alone?

Many people don't understand probability very well and many of them are resistant to having it explained to them. This leads some designers to creating mechanics that work like the player's instinctive (read: fucking wrong) understanding of probability, further confusing everyone.

An impeccable tomboy fit: Patlabor's Noa Izumi. 💜 Grabbed from an old anime archive of pics I downloaded many years ago. I believe it's from an artbook gallery.

An illustration of Noa in scarlet red shorts, white tee, and matching jacket, and her usual mop of short brown hair. She's running a hand through her hair with a cocky glance at the viewer. The tomboy/enby vibes are, well, woof. <3

how about some good news: new cat just dropped!!!!

a photo of a small, spotted wild cat, with orange fur and brown circular markings, staring up with big golden eyes.

Meet the First New Cat Species Discovered in 100 Years

A small, spotted tiger cat from Bolivia may just be the beginning of a wave of new small cat species.

This 10-year-old male tiger cat is the first of his species (named Leopardus tilcayo) known to science. He is approximately 18 inches from head to end of body and weighs only 3 pounds, making him smaller than the average domestic cat. This video was captured at the Senda Verde Animal Refuge in Bolivia’s Yungas region, where he currently resides.

A photo snapped from an ad for Photo-editing software, with a white cat sat looking up at a beige 90s PC base unit, mouse, and monitor. Kodak editing software is open on the screen with a photo of the same cat loafing.
