Too often, public transportation agencies think their responsibility begins and ends at the turnstile. Dutch railways have increasingly embraced the idea they are part of a door-to-door mobility system—one that includes walking, cycling, bike parking, and shared micromobility. youtu.be/ZuiyDEkyPW0

Thank you to everyone who came to the Critical Mass ride to save legal e-bikes last night. Queenslanders are really concerned about the damage to active transport if the laws discriminate against people who don't have a driver's license and set unrealistic speeds for shared paths. #savelegalebikes

If your intervention to reduce the danger cyclists pose to pedestrians results in a significant number of cyclists switching to making those journeys by car, it will almost always increase the net danger to pedestrians.

Cycling side-by-side isn’t bad behaviour—it’s human behaviour. It’s how parents talk to their kids. How friends catch up. How communities form. If bicycle infrastructure is too narrow for people to ride and talk together, the problem isn’t the people. It’s the infrastructure. Nørrebro, Copenhagen.

We checked under the tree in case there was a bikeway-shaped present near the Schneider Rd underpass. Sadly it wont be unwrapped until next year. After more than a decade of advocacy it's fair to say we're impatient for this important link in the Moreton Bay Cycleway to open. It won't be long now!!
A sign on construction fence in front of a bikepath advises that final works will be early 2026. The Viola Place to Schneider Rd shared path with red paint indicating positions for bollards.
