I haven't read it, and my only exposure has been through Distractible (Markiplier & Friends podcast), and I realized none of them actually read books. It seems like easy reading pulp fiction for people who don't like readin' them words on tha page.

I should find a way to strip the old paint off my many Gundam Wing models and re-paint them. I'm sure 20 year old paint is eeeaaasssy to remove....

sotmo.bsky.social @sotmo.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

I've only done a couple Gundams, but something I wish I knew about model paint on the few I did (in the early 00's) is the paint has to be thinned out first, and painted on in layers, allowing for previous layers to dry. My Gundam models looked all blotchy, but I still liked doing it.

Saw a young woman at the mall today dressed like an early 2000's furry/emo, and she pulled it off really well. JNCO jeans, cap with green furry ears, green tail, leather bolero coat, all coordinated in greens and black.

I was on a bike ride today and saw a man on a longboard who had a leash that split into parts, and was being pulled by dogs while he used mush dog commands. My biggest regret is not asking if I could get a photo of him and his dogs.

So I did some digging, and I wondered if the words clamp and clump are related, because of the whole bundling roots underground thing. Turns out they share proto-germanic roots. How the hell CLAMP learned of a potato clamp is one hell of a mystery though. Absolute banger of an episode.

I wish I knew enough about fashion/color theory, but seeing the list my brain immediately went to early-mid 90's anime and characters like Dotta from Sorcerer Hunters. Shenlong with hair buns and wearing a qipao.

010

sotmo.bsky.social @sotmo.bsky.social · 17/07/2026

Oh! I also looked up the etymology of potato clamp, and it turns out it's a specially constructed mound used for storing large amounts root vegetables for months on end. I'm guessing that has to do with how many members there were originally, all cramped into a very small space.

sotmo.bsky.social @sotmo.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

I'm a bit behind, but this season has been really good. I tend to get second hand embarrassment really easy, so a high school setting REALLY worried me, but man...Rude Tales is still as strong as ever. Also if you want to hear Tim Platt get bullied by his players, this is the podcast for you!

As for the Acrisure Amphitheater, a co-worker of mine lives about 4 miles in the opposite direction the theater points, and has to deal with that noise. I'll admit I'm seeing Weird Al this Friday there though...Possibly during a thunderstorm. Also The Crane Wives mentioned!

I'm glad to hear on the latest episode of @nerdmysteries.bsky.social that random animals just wander GR. We have a group of turkeys (a gaggle?) that just show up on Wilson street in Grandville. They hold up traffic now and then. Honey Badger don't care? Hell no son, Turkey don't care. ->

I wrote something about how to dress for your body type. I disagree with guides that approach this from a corrective POV (e.g. clothes that make fat people look slim, short people look tall). Instead, I think it's about learning how to express yourself in a language www.mrporter.com/en-us/journa...
