Thank you very much for this analysis. I strongly agree that incentives (or other regulatory measures, eg below suggestion) are needed to ensure that consumers have a real option of buying an affordable EV with a low resource footprint, ideally European. concito.dk/en/udgivelse...

Today I passed the below parking project, and I wanted to scream*. 😱 The construction is now severely degrading the bike lane, that is used in particular for getting to a school down the street. 🤬 *: Or do as the sculpture on the first picture, made by Galschiøtt as a protest against the project.

Today the Danish government’s 2026 Climate Programme came out, in which they’re supposed to compare progress with goals and show a plan forward. While there were no new initiatives, it was positive that risks and uncertainties now are addressed more openly, ref 👆🏻. www.kefm.dk/aktuelt/nyhe... #dkpol

By end of August 2026, the BEV share of the Danish car fleet was 23%. As to be expected, the highest share is in/around the larger cities, but actually there is relatively low variation.

There’s a guy in Denmark with 15 cars (probably a sorry Toyota dealer) who I think would like to get into that deal as well.

I miss my old E.On 'CITY charge' subscription, with a low fixed fee and a heavy discount on public chargers at a specific site (to emulate me having a home charger). The offering was cancelled by end of 2017. Note: Prices are from 2015 and ex VAT. Charging prices are inclusive of a 0.72DKK/kWh tax.

As usual a great slide deck from @ember-energy.org, although I think the infotech / AI enthusiasm is a bit overdone. So my preferred slide is this one 👇, even if numbers date back to 2022 - I wonder what the percentage would be by now? 40%? Beyond? ember-energy.org/latest-insig...

As the Danish government is also expanding CPH I probably should cast the first stone. But: Why is the UK letting the sovereign investments funds of Quatar (20%), Saudia Arabia (15%), Singapore (11%) and China (10%) expand Heathrow, in reality betting on the world giving up on the Paris Agreement?

While my education was in (reductionist) physics and math, I’m now working with the systemic challenge, that is the climate crisis. I thus took joy in reading @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social argue how a worldview of interconnection and interdependence is emerging. Where ‘we are not nouns: we are verbs’ 👌

"As of June 2026 more than 10 data centres have made inquiries about prices and terms for getting a connection to the national *gas* grid various places in Denmark." 😱 As my colleague @dursten.bsky.social wrote on LinkedIn: This cannot happen. Someone needs to block this.

2/2 Luckily DSB came up with a genius solution: We merged with the express train coming from behind, that will push us to the next larger station, Køge Nord 😀.

1/2 I have tried many rail disruptions, but this is a first: A few minutes after leaving Copenhagen Central, we did an emergency stop: Somebody pulled the emergency handle, thinking it was the carriage door opener 🤦‍♂️ Stop was in a so-called neutral power line section, so we were without power.

Yesterday evening I walked past this monument over Copenhagen’s mobility policy: I’m not thinking of the nice building in the background, but of the parking basement construction in the front. Symbolic bike initiatives cannot outweigh huge car infrastructure investments (several highways too 👆🏻).

One hour ago I shifted my pension fund from medium risk (which for some reason meant mainly US stocks and IT, even if I had opted for climate-focus) to low risk (ie bonds and real estate). Reading below piece I’m not in regret.

Didn’t all (fast) chargers in Denmark accept credit cards? I had a different vacation experience: I have the charging tag from the Norwegian EV association, which worked just fine in Germany, France and Belgium. I didn’t check the cost; on vacation convenience is more important than cost.

Yes, but bigger cars give spill over effects so that at some point parking is only possible in one side of the street (endangering the sidewalk) 😬

Also in Denmark politicians are having difficulties in letting go of the car-focused infrastructure planning. But new, more progressive people are continually being elected, so fingers crossed that this car tunnel will be the last such in Copenhagen.
