Just heard they recast Sephiroth in FF VII Revelation due to scheduling and I'm incredibly bummed out even tho the new actor Is a apparently Travis Willingham who is great (I know him best as Roy Mustang in Full Metal Alchemist) Just feels wrong not to have Tyler Hoechlin do all three games.

The last few days have reminded me how much game discussion is a mess. Between forum posts & media reaction streams, I get the feeling ppl hate their lives and are lashing out because I’ve seen too much “nothing in the SOP looked good” or “Onimusha looked ugly, needs more graphics,” and it’s crazy.

Replayed the Onimusha demo but switched the control layout from aggressive to defensive and Christ, that layout is much more natural! I struggled with the boss first time thru but this time I was only losing cos I was greedy trying to get blue orbs for flashy moves rather than just killing them lol

True, and even if AI ever developed real consciousness why would machine intelligence need the same rights? A lot of human needs would not apply and a lot of machine-specific needs would apply. The idea that they’d just be humans trapped in a desktop/server is weird

Just replayed Dino Crisis 1 and then followed it up by watching a few lets plays from different channels, and it’s an interesting test to see who tries to engage with the challenge of the game's puzzle or immediately tries to look it up or ask chat.

I feel this is a false dichotomy. The problem is the yellow paint is a poor implementation of guidance and ppl want non-ugly choices that fit with the environment. Lots of games do it well but yellow paint feels like a late addition when they realised the level design didn’t work & no time to fix it

The PS2 truly is the best console ever because it is constantly becoming more powerful. Each time we say something "looks like a PS2 game" we're talking about a game of a higher fidelity than the last. What the PS2 is capable of in 2025 is so far beyond what it was capable of in 2003. BY THE WAY If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2. There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security. Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation." TURN IT OFF.

Played an hour of Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139 today and who made the bright decision of making the circle interact and then when it opens a menu (such as for saving) choose to have cross as confirm and circle as cancel. Only realised when I tried to save again and saw no save file
