Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 4hinsert your favourite metric, than human, it was a win. Maybe we should remember that sometimes. For me the friction point is that people are putting these models with not always well understood distributions in charge of decisions with quite costly mistakes to save money. 000
Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 4hI guess people are stuck in "it's a computer, it should always give the same correct answer" or something. But even before LLMs, visual classifiers and detectors were mainly evaluated on their confusion matrices compared to humans. If the model scores better in terms of sensitivity/specificity/IOU/ 100

Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 06/10/2026Ah no, I'm lying. Talking to a model when learning math and stats and things actually really helps me. I can ask my weird questions about caveats and assumptions and it can usually point me to the right direction. 100
Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 06/10/2026And I just realized you were probably speaking in more broader sense. There I have to say I dig the selection tools powered by segmentation models in photo editing tools. Otherwise I'm a happy camper without it. 100

Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 06/10/2026It's a fine balance to navigate :( I can't very well ignore the coding tools. But I'm making very careful choices where I use them. At some level of "LLMs evaluating LLM-generated submissions," you've gotta ask what we're even doing here. 511531

Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 27/09/2026In the end it's a different mechanic than I thouht it would be. Ammo is pretty restricted, you need to recharge it. Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 26/09/2026Yeaaaah they chickened out. For moth enemies the shooting auto-aims. Honestly, it's probably enjoy if they sticked with it. Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 25/09/2026Fight systems like these always outline how important the V.A.T.S. was in the 3D Fallouts. Without it, it's just the same chaos as it was in Skyrim. Especially with close quarters combat. Also, looks less broken than Outer Worlds. (Even though that was the worst at the finale, so we'll see.) 000
Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 25/09/2026#Avowed is 40% off on Steam. I seem to remember the reviews somewhat unimpressed? Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 25/09/2026There were some bad bosses in Control as well, but I think they were optional? The main path was alright for a long time. Somewhat Pointless 🐈 @somewhatpointless.eurosky.social · 25/09/2026Not that anybody asked, but I already found the original Control a bit too hard.
