anything for my Maka. This is part of a larger story (in the sense that I started writing it and realized it was), the Hinarizaki wip I know nothing about but apparently exists, alive and well. 4/6

Inarizaki Hinata preview

Summer in Hyogo was hot and lonely. It had only been a few months, only a handful of weeks since the Hinata family had moved to Inarizaki.
It was early, then, to decide whether Shoyo liked the new school. He has not yet had time to enjoy his new friends, because he missed his old ones.
He missed everything about Karasuno, even the sleepy mountain summer, even the rainy season. It was always raining in Hyogo. Kita-san had told him that he simply had to get used to it; ya will like it in a while.
He liked Kita-san, he's a nice guy, a good person. He likes the others too, it's just that....he misses home. By now, he would be training with Kageyama and not lying on the porch of the new house, surrendering to that torrid humidity.

He wondered how Hitoka was doing, without him. Of all the people he had to leave behind, she missed him the most, unexpectedly. He sighed. It was not like he could keep bothering her with his homesickness.
«Ya just have ta get used ta it» Kita-san would tell him, and Shoyo couldn't wait to just get used to it. He wished he could have skipped through this part of his life and gone straight to the one where he liked living in Inarizaki, had lots of friends and was doing well.
Though, for a nice new house, it was taking them a long time to send someone to fix the air conditioning! It wasn't that urgent a problem, since his mother was at work and Natsu was at school for Yako girls' volleyball club training camp....heck, now that they had money for air conditioning they had it worse than before?
Shoyo was tempted to get up and try to fix it himself, however, the climate was sticking him to the floor. That sucked.

He turned his head on the wooden floor, looking into the garden, his eyes half-closed and his mouth open, trying to get some air.
That's when he spotted him: so tall that he surpassed the gate by his entire head, his blond hair shade further lightened by the sun, he was wearing the white shirt of his summer school uniform.
«Shoyo-kun, may I come in? I have something fer ya!» he announced himself.
Shoyo almost felt like pretending he wasn't there, a little ashamed: Atsumu was so friendly, much more than Osamu, much more than Kita-san, much more than anyone else, and Shoyo.....well, Shoyo was still a little too angry that he had to move to Hyogo. He wished he was less mad, so he could treat Atsumu with the respect he deserved. He knew his anger was misplaced, but he was angry nonetheless.
It wasn't Atsumu's fault at all.

Besides, Atsumu was a little too handsome for Shoyo's comfort. He was tall, strong, friendly, and responsible but not too perfect like Kita or too serious like Kageyama or too mean like Tsukishima. He was, simply, the perfect balance of all things Shoyo found attractive in someone. How maddening! How dare him!
So, he almost didn't answer. Then, he felt bad, because the Miya were so kind to them. Nobuhiko Miya had written letters of recommendation that got both he and Natsu into prestigious private schools like Yako and Inarizaki. He felt bad, so.... «Sure, Atsumu-san, I'm coming!» he sighed, getting up.
«Nah, stay there, it's burning hot today. Dad told us that yer air conditioner isn't working yet. We called Yamamoto-san on yer behalf but they're busy in Himeji right now, something wrong with the town hall. He will come tomorrow, he's sorry ta leave ya hanging.» Atsumu chatted, making his way through the garden. He had a plastic bag in one hand and a rather large electric fan in the other. Shoyo looked at him intrigued.
