I'm excited to announce that the PLC Organization now has a statute! And a bank account! And a @standard.site publication! All the important stuff. The PLC Org is an independent Swiss Association meant to operate the PLC directory, which collects and distributes signed updates to atproto accounts.

made a post in the atmosphere developer forum about timelines for rolling out spaces (aka permissioned data) and community groups to the full network. tl;dr: a couple more months of iteration and prep, then major PDS operators could coordinate to go "general availability" around mid-November

All db products support automated backups under the assumption they are your app’s data DR story. I’ve never worked in a company where we’ve exercised them in the context of data DR. Meanwhile all atproto apps are built on a data DR system and use it all the time. It’s just called jet stream. 🤔

as cool as I think @tangled.org 's DID repo uris are, the Configure your remote to git@tangled.org:did:plc:randomhex repo create prompt does not mix well with jj git clone git@tangled.org:did:plc:randomhex because you end up with a directory full of directories named randomhex instead of repo names

We know developing OAuth clients locally has been harder than it could be, partly because `localhost` isn't allowed as a `redirect_uri`. Please chime in on this discussion if you have any concerns about relaxing that particular rule.

Everytime I get a dependabot security warning about third order npm dependency attached to a weekend project I no longer maintain I’m reminded of why I stopped reaching for npm. npm projects have a tendency to carry a forever weight of never ending security vulnerabilities. Its exhausting
