Nice work Councillor @stasherbc.bsky.social - data centres are better suited in industrial sites next to underused substations in cold environments. AND they need to be taxed properly! It's ridiculous they aren't taxed like other resource heavy industries.

I doubt the cons can fake unity long enough to form government. And I suspect at least 2 con parties will run here splitting the right wing vote. But still a stupid risk that was completely unnecessary. And rude to do during Muni season.

A good elected official will help no matter what party they're attached too, or they should - it was the norm not that long ago. But funny you mention rent...do you know me IRL because I've been making a stink about the tenancy act this week 🤣

There is definitely room for improvement. I do not like the shift towards a 2 party government. Just get back to basics - propose legislation, consider proposed amendments & relevant data to pass good policy. More governance, less politic-ing.

I should add that strategic voting split the progressive vote here last federal election and we lost an amazing MP because of it.

Naw not presuming anything. People join parties that align with their values and party members vote on policy. So that'll tell you alot about your candidate for sure. But the individual MLA is still your MLA no matter how many times they cross the floor.

I think we should all vote for the person we want to see as our MLA instead of voting to keep the worst one out. Strategic voting often backfires ;)
