This makes me hopeful. This number is aspirational but nowhere near out of reach: a working professional could realistically cash out their 401k and buy off a public official. Owning a senator is more attainable for most Americans than home ownership.

Adulthood is just cycling between "If I don't say yes to every opportunity, no new opportunities will ever be offered to me" and "Oh no, I have said yes to too many things" over and over until you die.

I keep coming back to which is easier, demolition or construction, murder bots or curing cancer? They will do the easier things first before they know if they can do the hard ones.

You can test new tech ideas using the Seinfeld Test Would the product eliminate the plot of an episode? (Google maps, cell phones, paypal, battery packs) Good tech. Would the product inspire new Seinfeld plots? (NFTs, AI chatbots, crypto currency, blindboxes, metaverse land sales) Bad tech.

Anyway the problem with a permanent vibescession caused at least in part by social media posturing is that while it might screw Trump in the short term it really screws the politics of generosity and solidarity in the long term. Believing times are bad makes people more selfish.

3) The effort is the juice! The effort is the high! Mastery of a skill is an unparalleled buzz. "Having written" is nice yes, we all joke about that, but *the making is the pleasure*. Men who've never experienced that, trying to steal it because ironically *they do not know its value*, is a sin.

"My home's value has declined," just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Finally, the President's ability to negotiate exceptions to the tariffs in exchange for financial or political support creates a threat to democracy and the rule of law that Congress should oppose. n/n

This article is incredible, the writer — absolutely sopping with disdain and condescension for the professional media — spends thousands of dollars and does some terrific reporting to ultimately confirm a key fact in a story which annoyed him is … likely true www.bitsaboutmoney.com/archive/two-...
