Every time I see one of these whiny little baby questions about speed limits, I Google the MP's name and "speeding". Running at a 100% "yeah they got done for speeding" hit rate so far.

So in the past few days Trump has taken sanctions off Russia’s energy, asked to buy diesel from Russia, restricted SpaceX Starlink, stopped sharing intel on incoming missiles, & asked Europe to unfreeze Russian assets to give to Russia. Hope Americans aren’t confused on who he works for

The problem here is that most of the actual Green Party activists were busy campaigning at the by-election while these idiots signed up in large numbers and took over the conference. I hope they manage to sort themselves out quickly because we need them.

It’s not extraordinary though, is it. Not for anyone who is either professionally or ideologically compelled to comply with the absolutely batshit, absurd, topsy-turvy world our politicians and press have constructed over the past two decades.

I've been wondering if more people are driving to the Westgate and railway station car parks now you can get there without paying a charge. I'd like to see the County Council try a congestion charge together with the traffic filters. Perhaps £5 to go under the Botley Rail Bridge.

(I was careful to compare returns, by the way - I know Eurostar up the prices if you go one way)

Last night it was €110 for the outbound Eurostar through European Sleeper, making the short crossing of the Channel far more expensive than the sleeper from Brussels to Milan.

Duncan @slamdunc.eurosky.social · 12/10/2026
I don't particularly want to publish my travel dates, but if I search for the same journey again I get €73 (£62ish) outbound with European Sleeper and £55 direct with Eurostar. The European Sleeper option has got cheaper than yesterday, but still not as good as booking direct.

Annoyingly I didn't think to screenshot it, but they very much didn't for me. It would have cost an extra €200 for my family if I'd booked through European Sleeper (which I'd very much have liked to, as I get a discount!)

@seatsixtyone.bsky.social Just booked some European Sleeper tickets. It was *hugely* more expensive to book Eurostar together with it (double the price outbound) so worth checking Eurostar's own prices.

A few years ago I thought Ed Davey was doing quite a good job, but suddenly this year he's asking for fuel duty cuts and making videos about how important it is to have Churchill on banknotes. He's lost his way.

This challenge to Ed Davey's leadership is timely and necessary. Lib Dem support is flatlining, and Davey's only response has been increasingly desperate attempts to appeal to Tory voters, most recently with unfunded tax cuts, which is both amoral and looks ridiculous.

How's redefining the meaning of the word going for the Green Party, do you think?
100 1
Duncan @slamdunc.eurosky.social · 07/10/2026
No-one. You can't just pick a word that everyone associates meaning with, and which is important to them, and decide you own it. When people read it, they will read the meaning they expect.

I haven't seen much to suggest that the leadership even understand they have a problem, let alone that they're working towards fixing it. It's all very depressing.

Duncan @slamdunc.eurosky.social · 07/10/2026
So not so much that people get punished for being naïve, but will they learn from their mistake and stop things getting worse? I'm seeing no evidence of leadership on this, just silence.

Seems that the person who drafted the Green party motion came via Your Party and joined - by her own admission - to press this simply because the Greens had a bigger platform. Classic bit of entryism which now threatens the future of the movement.

Let me try this once more. It was a choice. EITHER the Greens adopted a slogan. OR they could have joined the next govt, where they could push for an end to arms sales, sanctions, support for the arrest warrants etc. It was never going to be both. Which one makes a material difference? #GazaGenocide
