Good morning Swamilee! Happy to hear 🥰

Did you end up making a list? Try to press the share button!

Should be easy, but I've been focusing on a lot of other stuff recently - are you a dev? Because Skyline is open source, so if you want to you can just add it right now :) github.com/louislva/Skyline

Yes! They're stored on your computer. But you can share them with others if you want to :)

Hey! Meant to reply - thanks for the kind words. Actually means the world to me that you're enjoying Skyline 🙏 If you have some technical skills, you could try changing it yourself? Currently don't have too much time to spare for Skyline :/ Github: github.com/louislva/Skyline

Trying out @skyline.gay by @louis02x.com. It allows for custom algorithms and lists! It also allows for sharing your algorithms & lists and I can see it developing into a marketplace in the near future. The match/relevance percentage feature is also kinda neat.

A screenshot of a custom Skyline showing match/relevance percentage next to the skeets.

They're held client side but soon we'll launch syncing, so they'll be backed up in our DB at some point. And uh... user by user 😬 As far as I can tell there's no better API yet 👀

@skyline.gay was mentioned on a podcast. "ughhh what's that domain again 😬 ... skyline ... dot gay" i'm dying 😂 here's a link with the timestamp: youtu.be/bcMiWZ2Er2g?t=1921

You can install What's Mid as your default tab on Skyline :) Install link: skyline.gay/?tl=79lq3

There was a bug where some users would see an infinite loading spinner - sorry for the inconvenience, that has been fixed now!

Eddie Kay @ichthyos.com · 05/05/2023

Sorry about that - and thanks for testing! Can you share the list with me?

Just set up some Lists in Skyline - my timeline's gonna be so organized now!

081

And I'm not kidding - a lot of people requested lists!

130

P.S. be careful with loading lists too many times in a row! Bluesky will block you for 5 minutes if they see too much traffic 😂 Just keep your lists < 100 people, and don't refresh them all the time - you should be fine.

Should note this is still in beta! There might be bugs - you can help out a ton by creating different lists & just @-ing me if something breaks 🙏 Here's the link for the Bluesky Team list btw: skyline.gay/?tl=sbn1r

120

You might also notice that we've quietly launched a few other features: - Notifications 🔔 - Threads & profile view 👤 - "Create list from Following" - only works on users w/ less than 125 following! But it's a fun way to see what someone else is seeing on Bluesky 👀

130

Guess what Skyline just added? Lists! 📜💥 #1 most requested feature - and now we have it! All credit goes to @thearchduke.bsky.social for taking the initiative & getting it done. To create a list: - Go to skyline.gay - In the dropdown, press "Create timeline" - Select "List" and enter the handles 🎉

yeah hadn't even thought of that!

100

Oh that's brilliant 🤯... wanna submit a PR?

000

It does do that! There just isn't a lot around I think

Psst: they changed they changed the What's Hot feed to filter out NSFW content. On Skyline.gay, you still have the option to use the old uncensored one :)

140

This was the best I was able to do: skyline.gay/?tl=12cg3 Found at least one NSFW pic on there - think it speeds up around american nighttime!

130

Oops! I think it was affected by the core developers changing the underlying What's Hot feed to have a filter - I have fixed by turning that off! Try reinstall. (Still people aren't posting as much anymore I think)

Yeah haha, you can kind of tell who uses Skyline based on whether they reply to anything > 5 minutes old 😂

web users: check out skyline.gay to see what alternative bluesky clients can offer. Skyline adds a couple of stock timelines (mutuals only, latest tweet from each) and lets you create your own using "I want to see more/less of" prompts

Hmm.. weird. Does it persist? Perhaps if you try changing back and forth between two options?

100

Should Skyline have a block-list marketplace?

120

We've had dark-mode for a week! We built it before we built profiles, because we have our priorities straight.

e.g. a true blackbox AI would have some number (engagement) that it's trying to maximize. we're just using a static AI for search basically

in one sense - in another, it's very interpretable what it boosts (because it's not random, it's trying to the best of it's ability to look for very specific traits which you specified)
