I’m a former fansubber and when Kaizoku-Fansubs were subbing One Piece they were the laughingstock of the scene when they refused to translate “nakama” because they thought the meaning was too deep to translate. That’s just one example of japanophile mindset that causes more issues than needed.

No, SungWon is absolutely correct here. The insistence on sticking with the Japanese title when there is already a perfectly acceptable English one is utterly asinine. Nobody does this in Japanese literature, or film, or any other art form. It's just the anime nerds who insist on being obtuse.
