Anyone can face mental health challenges during or after pregnancy. But for mums who’ve had their children removed, the risk is even higher. Our listening project with Her Circle aimed to centre these women’s voices and challenge the stigma they face. #ListenToMums #MaternalMentalHealth

As ADHD midwife & NeuroNatal® founder Laura Spence writes in her blog for the MMHA: "Motherhood is often the breaking point." Without understanding or accessible care designed for neurodivergence, many mothers face guilt, anxiety, and higher risks of postnatal depression. 3/4
ADHD affects more than just attention, it impacts emotional regulation, sensory processing, and executive function. These are the very skills that new mothers rely on to manage feeding schedules, lack of sleep, and the relentless demands of newborn care. For ADHD mothers, even the simplest tasks can feel impossible, leading to guilt, anxiety, and burnout at higher rates than their neurotypical peers.
