Gobsprek. Goblins speak it, mostly. Other folks who have a lot to do with goblins, as well. Bonus: Not much - a few rules and a short vocabulary. I needed it to show a certain character engaging with parts of herself she'd buried. #conlangity #indieauthor #writesky #afterrealms #gobsprek

#Conlangity Day 1 We're starting off real simple! Don't get used to it 😂 What's the name of your conlang, and who speaks it in your world? Don't get too deep into the history or purpose of it yet; that'll be Day 5! Bonus: How much do you already have developed? What made you want to make it?

Daily prompt for the #Conlangity worldbuilding game:

DAY 1
[CULTURE] Starting with the absolute basics - what's the name of your language, and who primarily speaks it in your world?

The only way Warhammer 40,000 Space Marines can pass their genetic heritage on is through their "gene-seed" being implanted in a biologically-male human. Pretty sure that makes 40k the most widely read setting with canonical m-preg. #warhammer #40k #adeptusastartes #tumblr-ass-post #shitpost

I don't regret being anti-AI, but now I need your help. Please let me know if you have any advice. #writing #writers #amwriting #writingcommunity #writersky #writesky

This morning, I parted ways with my editor over their pro-AI stance.

This wasn’t a decision that I made lightly. In fact, I genuinely wanted to keep working with them despite how they felt about using AI in the creative process as long as they left such technology out of my book. Even now, I’m going to refrain from mentioning this editing company’s name because I don’t want them to become the subject of harassment. But still, it hurts. I was days away from finishing revisions on my manuscript so that the company could put my book into a paperback format. Now, I feel adrift and I don’t know what to do.

I don’t regret being anti-AI when it comes to writing. I feel like I made the right decision in the long term despite how much it sucks right now. But I don’t like cutting ties with people, and in the event that the editing company ever changes their mind about AI usage, I’ll be the first one to recommend their services. I’ll always be grateful to them for the help that they gave me, and I’m truly sorry that things ended the way that they did.

Having said that, if anyone in the Bluesky writing community knows of a person or company that specializes in formatting manuscripts for physical print, could you please share their information with me? I’d greatly appreciate it.

"Can't you just not write smut?" No. No, I fucking can't, Karenia. I spent 34 years trying to write a book with emotional stakes, memorable characters, vivid prose, and 0 sex scenes. I failed. Every. Single. Time. First time I drop some boinking in? Draft was done in six f*cking weeks!
