Once you see the pattern it's hard to unsee it. Everything is droplets and close contact while in circulation, never airborne.

From my admittedly informal observations since 2020, the usage of the word airborne appears to be inversely related to the number of cases a particular disease currently has in circulation at any given time. No cases, yes it's airborne. Cases. We are not sure exactly how it transmits.

It is funny (in the joker way, as per usual) how so many people's lives were completely shattered over copyright trolling from companies who treated downloading a song as a capital offense but the moment they could make money on it themselves it instantly stopped being relevant

To be fair those making the actual decisions are too busy in June and July telling us cases are down, respiratory season is over, and not to worry to think about things like precaution.

So-called "evidence-based medicine" in a nutshell: doesn't work, recommend it anyway. They don't care. No wonder zero progress occurs in illnesses where this failing approach dominates. If this were a commercial product it would be banned. There are no adequate checks & balances in health care.

IMO looking at the last two years I think offering Covid-19 vaccinations in June or July and aiming to have as much coverage as possible before schools resumed in September may have made the most sense. Ontario waiting until the end of October for most is starting too late.

It's 2026 and doctors are recommending handwashing as a way to prevent inhaling airborne viruses.
three panel comic:

panel 1: guy on bike with stick in his hand and the caption says: I'm a doctor

panel 2: guy on bike putting stick into his wheel spokes with the caption: Protect yourself from airborne viruses with lasting health consequences by washing your hands

panel 3: guy on ground in pain holding his knee because his bike crashed with the caption: Why is my ER full

Historians, if you are wondering how we failed to control an airborne pandemic this is why. We were never battling the virus, instead we have been battling those in healthcare who deny it transmits as an exhaled aerosol.

Dear journalists, If you're looking to interview a doctor on Covid in 2026, a good probing question is whether they wear a respirator mask in their practice. If not, maybe time to source a new expert

Oopsie for the 6th year in a row. Because why do serious prevention when you can overwhelm health care each year. "The figures show there were 950 hospital admissions for Covid in August and the total jumped to 4,939 in September, up by around 420 per cent." www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...

What is the XFG Covid variant? UK hospitalisations up more than 400% in a month
More than half of the positive tests were found to be a variant of XFG

"This ability allows Y.pestis to become a serious infection, progressing to fatal #sepsis before symptoms appear " That seems incompatible with the only use precautuons / PPE after symptoms, or a positive test mentality that medsky / public health contact tracing uses.

"Media reports have described the suspected infection as pneumonic plague, which affects the lungs and can spread between humans through respiratory droplets." From the Moscow Times article a few days ago. It will be droplets and close contact all over again. Medsky denial re: airborne is strong.

Definitely; we have easy access and are “allowed” to wear them where I work but despite me being vocal about it for 5 years now no nursing colleagues have joined me. IMO the hurdles are IPAC disinfo (huge problem), dismissal of LC, peer pressure…

If comfortable respirators are available, people will wear them, and infections will go down. If infections go down, infection control will face difficult questions about why they didn't do it earlier. So infections can't be allowed to go down. So comfortable respirators can't be offered.
