Cannot express enough the speed at which I would turn the game off, put down the controller and immediately sell the console.

If you take one thing away from this little test I hope it's less about Jev and more to be very intentional about how you use automated processes in your life and work, try to be aware of your own biases, try to be aware of potential systematized biases, ask "how do I know?" and "what can I do?"

i didnt even look at the new iphone benchmarks until now. What the fuck do you mean single core performance score is MORE THAN DOUBLE my PC. What the fuck do you mean the multicore performance is identical when i have 16 cores. Stop feeding the apple engineers so much cocaine. This is so fucked

I’m curious how it’s implemented. I could see this being fully client side calculated and not served as data from the appview

I would 100% support a law that says if any digital platform removes your access to media you paid for then they are required to refund you the entirety of the original purchase price. That would solve this whole thing in a hurry.

I’ve alway’s thought it’s a shame that WebAssembly has the word “web” in it. Gives it a connotation that it’s “only for browsers” or something.

Meanwhile, NASA’s over here with a flight-compliant derivative (SpaceWASM) intended for spacecraft!

then most of the posts appeared as unlabeled when loaded via the appview. I ended up tackling this at the feed level, and I made a proxy for the For You feed that removes the "offending" posts from the feed skeleton that comes from For You before it reaches my client

Bsky's appview rate limits how many of your labels get ingested per hour and per day. Emitting labels for something super high frequency like america-related posts is not a reliable way to mute. When I made a labeler to mute "political" posts, I blew threw the limits almost immediately and

Durable Object Row Reads. 3 trillion in a week. I was building a labeler and saved off millions of events from the jetstream for debugging. I had a watchdog doing health and status, and I tacked on to it a garbage collector for stale records and it did a full table scan every 30 seconds. It was a

With how they are currently set up this requires Bluesky’s cooperation. Ownership is far too strong of a word (imo) for where they are today but Bluesky isn’t adversarial so it’s not a risky option to believe in being available for if/when they choose it
