Some double bevel marquetry pieces I completed a while back.

I took my first ever woodworking class. It was a hand tool (Wharton Esherick inspired) 3 leg stool class at The Philadelphia Furniture Workshop. I’m pretty pleased with how it came out. Worth the sore hands and muscles 😆 Take care of yourselves and each other as best you can. #woodworking

One year later the falling leaves piece is finished…til I figure out what to do with it and actually do it. Thank you for the supportive comments on this one. Silence is complicity. #marquetry #woodveneer

The folks hollering about “family values” are out here tearing families apart with unlawful ICE raids, militarized police, & the weaponization of government. All while ripping away food & healthcare from working-class families. Are the family values in the room with us?

This is a good project to work on when my brain is too horrified/distracted by the hate, intolerance, chaos and cruelty of this admin and those who support it to use tools that require focus. #marquetry

Posting this today is my small act of resistance to the raging dumpster fire. Lots to do yet including replacing the border and getting through glue up. Then I need to decide what to do with it. #marquetry

1/ My youngest is incredibly talented and needed a multi-purpose workbench for book and print making, sewing, paper cutting and storage. The paper cutter will be added later. I built this for her.

Still need to trim the top, do a bunch of sanding and make a shelf for the bottom, but this will hopefully be a sturdy enough stand for the youngest’s HEAVY vintage book press.
