I think someone at #Eurostar has put me on a list. "Can't choose a wine? Try them all!" #Vegan #freestuff option is an Orecchiette salad with aubergine, peppers, and poivronade followed by a melon, pineapple, and pumpkin seed salad with five spice. The three wines are organic.

I have ended up with an embarrassment of spare interrail days so I'm having an emergency holiday to use them all up Leg 1 & 2: Nice - > Ventimiglia, Ventimiglia -> Genoa This line never gets old. Has to be one of the most spectacular coastal routes in the world. 1/

A crowd waits in the morning crush to Monaco from Nice. The Regio2N has to be one of the worst designed trains for commuter service. The time it takes to empty in Monaco is incredible. Narrow corridors, far too few doors, steps and choke points everywhere inside

The regional train to Genova bathed in the morning light. There are services roughly every hour alternating between regional services and compulsory reservation "intercity" services, although on this route there's little difference in journey time

[Food] Having just enjoyed another one, I stand by m that DB’s French breakfast is still the best French breakfast on rails, and far superior to the SNCF alternative.

A DB Fransösich Frühstück - French Breakfast - which includes a nice warm croissant, two warm crusty bread rolls - one white and one wholemeal - honey, jam (apricot in this case), butter, and some Bionella, not visible in the picture, which is a vegan Nutella alternative
