dpartu.re now sends you to the official adif.es departure board for most Spanish stations, rather than the fan made ones. it's much uglier than the cool fan-made ones we were using before, and it insists on showing long distance and short distance trains separately, but it has data for […]

the adif android app uses a different endpoint to the infostation API that all the fan sites use to show departures. it covers many more stations. it also is authenticated so only the android app can make the requests. this is, if you'll forgive my use of some technical jargon, "very stupid"

Updated graph with the findings we will publish this week. Maybe - maybe - that is the beginning of a drop ? I've long theorized that we should see (a more distinct) plot drop when we start to reach the end of "the wave" of reports.

this is such a weird consultation. the first part basically boils down to - LLMs are illegal to train in Europe. how can we make them more illegal to train? (copyright law is great. all money to rentiers) then there's a later part which is - how can we make science exempt from copyright? […]

Closes #5535

New reader articles are stored in Firefox's session-only storage through the background script, so article text is not written to persistent extension config or synchronized. The reader consumes and removes the session entry after loading, while caching it in sessionStorage for same-session theme reloads. Existing UUIDs in legacy reader_articles config still load with awaited cleanup, and Sync strips that legacy key from both outgoing and incoming data.

Validation:

yarn run build --quick passed after a temporary local workaround for this Windows environment's bundling of an unused Node-only source-map helper; the original helper was restored afterward.
yarn run tsc --project tsconfig.json --noEmit passed.
ESLint passed on the five changed TypeScript files.
    src/lib/config.test.ts: 259 tests passed.
Firefox 156 WebDriver verification passed: session write, absence from persistent config, article rendering, and removal after rendering.
src/excmds.test.ts could not run in this Windows environment because ts-jest rejects the generated file under the repository's outDir configuration.

I could not obtain a separate human tester. Manual verification: run :reader on an article, confirm it renders, check that its pending UUID is in extension storage.session and absent from userconfig, then verify the UUID is removed after rendering. Closing Firefox before opening the reader should discard the pending article.
