I just love looking at Ed Benedict's early designs for Hanna-Barbera characters. He embraced the UPA style and understood how to make these designs work within limited animation. He was one of the artists who gave the studio its identity in the early years.

When playing DOS games as a kid, I was always asking myself what might be happening there on the horizon and I imagined, what it would be like to go there. There were a lot of games with beautiful and interesting backgrounds like here in Lotus 3. Entire worlds in mind with just a few pixels.

Ok, so I deleted my last QRP cuz it was misinformation. Discord was NOT hacked. Double Counter isn't even affiliated with Discord. It's a bot made to protect servers from ban evading people. So unless you joined a server that has this bot as a verification step, you should most likely be fine.

According to MIT News, Margaret Hamilton died at the age of 90. "A profoundly influential computer scientist best known for leading the software engineering team at MIT’s Instrumentation Lab during NASA’s Apollo program". This famous photo 🔽 inspired the For All Mankind character Margo Madison.

Piracy is not an effective form of boycott. Companies still benefit when you engage with their product, when you talk about it online, etc. You wanna meaningfully boycott a game/utility/movie/etc? Boycott it all the way. Use or play or watch something else altogether. Don't give them that boost.

I was on Stoat for a bit but left after allegations of it being partially vibe coded, but apparently the developer has since removed all AI generated code, I think? I've also heard about Fluxer which seems great. Haven't made an account there yet tho.

This is what they do. They reupload popular/known OSTs then claim other people's videos, hoping they don't dispute. But if someone does, they bail immediately.

Be self-indulgent with your art. Just do it. Make that thing you think is too cringe to make. Whether people love it, or never even see it, just make it. Make what YOU want to make.

There's a brand new image from JWST and it's beautiful. Stars are being born here.

$From the source: "A young star cluster filled with many stars that display Webb’s unique eight-pronged diffraction pattern. At its center is a yellow star which sports the largest diffraction pattern. To the left of the star, there is a region filled with yellow dust and gas that extends from the star to the left border of the image. This yellow region extends from the bottom, covering about two-thirds of the image. The yellow region has several blue stars of different sizes embedded within. The top third, which lies outside of the yellow region, holds a few bright protostars, within dense gray gas. Those stars illuminate the gas, making it appear blue. A few red outflows from other protostars are visible above this grayish-blue region. To the right of the central star, there is a clumpy, flame-like plume of red dust and gas with protostars that emit a soft white light within. The plume is surrounded by more dense gray gas and dust. There are several background galaxies strewn throughout the image."$

I genuinely think ”official” discord servers for fandoms are an oxymoron and never worth using. Just like how no one relied on official forums in the 2000s either. Fandom spaces should be made by fans, not the corporation.

Did you know you only need a small brain to make silly little drawings?

4 panel comic:
Panel 1: pink blob guy on a table, pencil in their hands. Grey circle on a piece of paper and a glass of water on the table. They say “look here”
Panel 2: Proudly, they hold up the drawing of a grey blobby character on two stick legs up in the air. The pink blob says “I drew this!”
Panel 3: Satisfied they sit back down on the table. They now go “it’s not much, but..” The grey drawing looks a bit peeved because the drawer is calling it “not much”
Panel 4: But it’s okay, because now the pink blob is very pleased finally. He says “it came from my brain!” Holding the pencil up. The grey drawing blob is happy again, too. End well, all well!

Last night I made a new character profile on Toyhouse for an OC I've had in mind for a few years now but never really solidified. But yesterday I finally gave her a name. Does it count as a new OC even if her idea started years ago?
