it is REALLY easy for folks to 'do the right thing' when they are getting bombarded with bad press. so in my mind i thought 'well, if they REALLY want to grow and learn, we can see if they REMEMBER this and actually care when the smoke clears and nobodys looking.' i have not been invited back.

Extremely disappointing, and I recommend anyone who is interested in this game to read the article. And I've also seen some Warrior Cats fans trying to defend the use of AI in this game as well, just fuck no. Using AI trained on artists instead of ACTUAL artists is insanely scummy.

since people have been asking me about this all of the widgets I've made for Slime2 desktop simply insert user input (such as chat messages) as plain text. it does not allow those chat messages to create HTML, uses textContent to insert them instead of the dangerous innerHTML

OBS is getting a plugin manager which will make creating interactive effects so much easier. You will still need to do a bit of setup, but having plug-ins immediately searchable in OBS will make it so much easier to get people set up.

Using an AI voice is a deliberate choice to not pay an actor like how a genAI image is a business's choice to not pay an artist or graphic designer. It's a mark that a business has no problem cutting corners and hoping their customers don't notice as they pocket the difference. (3/3)

There's usually no residuals, and that audio is there for any cheap client who wants an excuse to not pay an actor a market rate. It's been a major hit to a lot of unsexy but lucrative work that allows many independent actors to survive with their business. (2/3)

Thread: I saw some discourse from people who treated genAI voices as "just TTS." It can be a tool for things where unique VO is impossible (i.e. Siri), but an AI voice voice is recorded once. It's usually at a low rate with crap in-perpetuity usage terms in the contract. (1/3)

Unsettling update to this: Hoyo is doing a collaboration with AI robotics company Unitree. The implication seems to be you can “meet” the AI NPC in real life? As a robot? The character does not have a voice in the game, but appears voiced in the promo for this collab. Which is v interesting to me.

Just adding on to this since the settings are slightly different on desktop discord, with a dropdown list (with only one option lol) instead of a toggle.

Desktop Discord's settings, under Data & Privacy there is a "Manage Sponsored Content" section where you can disable Real Money Gaming content.

(Yes, this is dizzying: AI that makes your AI writing seem less AI, to escape other AI.) A non-native English speaker who writes their own essay but then runs it through Grammarly, the writing software with AI-powered editing features, might be more likely to get in trouble than a student who let ChatGPT do all the work and then ran the essay through a humanizer.

There are a few variations of this, such as Twitch Music Compliance, Twitch Creator Music Compliance Advisory, and Twitch Audio Compliance Report. They'll all have similar copy. Ultimately, these emails usually come from non-Twitch email accounts (Gmail, GoogleGroups, etc.).
