Maybe corny but it was helpful for me to hear Henry Rollins saying "this is not time to be dismayed, this is punk rock time, this is what Joe Strummer trained you for... You can be thunderous in your own life, to the eight people around you. That rubs off... Goodness is viral"

A lesson I have learned from surgery, shingles, chemo, etc: Never underestimate what the human body -- and the human race -- can recover from once you remove what's harming it and treat it with patience, love, and care. Don't ever let the current state of damage be the future you envision.

I understand why everyone is so freaked out, but we can't be effective if we're just randomly yelling at everyone assuming the enemy is *everyone except them*

you still misunderstand me. Take your own advice and deal with the fact that I said something you didn't like.

After being on this app for a few weeks I've come to see that it's not that this app is insane, it's that our country is full of people in a crash out spiral, refusing to face the hard facts and instead yelling at everything as they crash and burn. 🧵1/3

alice lastname @shellycentral.bsky.social · 17/02/2025

It's the fact that you all assume my political beliefs based on what i just said. that's just wild and why this world is about to burn. You'd rather yell at strangers than try to actually fix the problem. Keep yelling. Well yourself out. I don't care

000

alice lastname @shellycentral.bsky.social · 17/02/2025

I suggest you do some tarot or some kind of deep soul-searching to figure out why you're so angry and lashing out at strangers on the Internet. that kind of anger is gonna destroy you way before it destroys the people you're angry at.

alice lastname @shellycentral.bsky.social · 17/02/2025

The thing is everyone is so quick for assumptions. Why would you assume I'm not death to fascist? because I am eat the rich and I mean it literally but you hold so tightly to your belief that you jump to inaccurate conclusions. It doesn't bother me I know who I am but it makes you miss out on a lot

we can put up these stickers and feel morally superior on our soapbox or we could actually try to come together with those who are reachable and actually change things. I totally get wanting to find a way to feel OK but when we're done with that we need to do things that bring actual change
