What’s happening with the Welsh Gender Service has been covered elsewhere more eloquently but to see the main architect of all those cancelled surgeries being celebrated is absolutely ghoulish. Not a single thought for the lives he’s impacted here, in pursuit of his hatred.

On a personal note, if it wasn't for the Welsh Gender Service being set up, I don't know how much longer I might have stayed in the closet. The old system, literally actually called the gatekeeping system meant seeing CMHS to decide whether or not you got a referral. To London.

When I first looked into that, I went fuck that. A few years later, now living in London, when I first started seeking mental health support I just so happened to be referred to Tavistock. I remember staring at the sign for the gender services department for 5 minutes wishing I could just walk in

The UK is a fucking clown country I swear to god. The Welsh Gender Service, which despite its issues (it's still British healthcare after all) has been effectively shut down for not actively mulching trans people and using them to fertilise the kings lawn

Referrals have been stopped, and scheduled surgeries have been cancelled. My friend's scheduled surgeries have been cancelled. One of them was told while in their hospital bed waiting to go into the operating room. This will kill people. This will kill my friends.

What possible reason could they have for doing this? The Times wrote an article highlighting how Wales, a nation 1/20th the size of England, has had more referrals for gender affirming surgeries than the entirety of the English services. That's it. That's the whole bit.
