A while back, while I was doing dishes I managed to drop and break a favorite mug; no design, just a huge (it was like a soup bowl with a handle) deep blue IKEA mug that was perfect for weekends. I mentioned it to @sasta.bsky.social and we talked about the heavy self-frustration and blame of it all.

How to visit an art museum with someone who isn't used to visiting art museums:

Two social media posts by @pan_juho (Translated from Japanese):

"I love going to art museums, but when I go with someone who's not used to them, if I say, 'If you were a great thief, tell me later which one you'd steal,' they end up looking the exhibits pretty seriously, and that makes me happy.

"Whether you steal something you like or something that seems valuable -> it opens up endless conversation based on what vou liked about it or where you saw value in it, so it's also great as an easy icebreaker for chats after visiting the museum."

I've seen a lot of dubious and salacious Japanese puns, but this one's new to me: Japan uses カップ (kappu; "cup") for bra sizes too; "C-カップ," etc. Today I came across an image tagged スイカップ, "suikappu". スイカ (suika), of course, being Japanese for "watermelon"...

It's been an Interesting™ few days here. Saturday morning me and Jeff joined my sister for her birthday to do a puzzle hunt we'd missed when it originally ran. Somewhere towards the start of things I realized that the vision in my right eye was too blurry to be able to read clearly. (1/n)

The latest ZZZ character trailer is pretty mediocre but this gag alone was worth the price of admission.

A shot from the new ZZZ character trailer where the character in question holds her phone to her ear. Since her (horse) ears are on top of her head this puts the entire phone above her temples.

This topic came up in another discussion earlier today. I know where I land and I suspect I know where most of you land, but I'm curious. Success is something that is... (a) almost assured if you make the right choices and do the right things. (b) largely a matter of luck when it comes down to it.

It's thrown _by_ White House reporters, for White House reporters. Showing up at the dinner doesn't mean you've accepted a White House invitation.
