Weirdest thing is they TECHNICALLY didn't change that for KH2??? It's still an optional ability, they just wisen up and give it to you at the start of the game as opposed to it potentially being unlocked at level 21 for some god forsaken reason.

Scan is honestly somewhat permissible bc you really don't "need" it but it is helpful for letting you know if you're making tangible progress or if you should reconsider grinding or not. Also Deep Jungle is just bad man idk if I need to explain why. IYKYK.

Proud Mode easily two-shotting you at points feels wild. Like I know it's the hardest difficulty for KH1, but the lack of abilities to help you block/dodge makes it feel extra bullshit. I'll never understand why GUARD was an optional ability that takes you multiple levels to learn.

It's funny that even KH Cid is kind of a curmudgeon compared to FF7R Cid so far. Like KH!Cid is nowhere near as nice to Sora compared to how FF7R!Cid acted with Aerith, it's super funny to me, but I don't think that's translation I think they just didn't want to make him a massive dick LMFAO

The FF7R Cid Localization discourse is so weird to me, not because I think it's "wrong" necessarily, but because everyone's complaints (Cid doesn't curse as much and isn't an asshole) doesn't land for me when my first exposure to FF7!Cid was Kingdom Hearts.

"Feast your eyes upon the Warrior of Light, savior of this star and several others," Thancred says. He sounds a little tired. "Unstoppable and insatiable.

Copiycha, to his credit, puts up an undeterred fight.
It would be easy to give in at the sight of a summoned dragon and yet he does not. He is fifty-something and duels with dulled blades but he dodges what he can and clenches teeth through that which he cannot.
A particularly brutal surge of enemy punctures him and knocks him on his ass. Huichaana's shields shatter. "Oof," he says, which might be the most remarkable reaction Mharwyb has ever had to the wrath of Bahamut's shade. She has not taken a step since the start of the battle. She did not let him get close. She stands perfectly neutral before her father, eyes tinged with a blue glow and fingertips humming with an otherworld primal's reflection.
Copiycha looks at Mharwyb, and then up to her summon, and smiles his familiar, ever-present smile. He tips from his sit in a noble surrender. His back hits the sandy ground beneath him.
"Beautiful," he says, which is a remarkable reaction as well. He gazes up at the sky with a pleased, unfocused expression. He says, under his breath, skyward and true, "Despite it all, look at what we've done."

Something untethers inside Mharwyb and her balance wobbles. She shuts her book. Bahamut poofs back into a small carbuncle. The creature does one more lap, and then dissipates into a wisp of atheric sparkles.
Mharwyb wheezes in a breath, winded but otherwise unbothered. She stretches the arm she uses to hold her tome. She blinks, and collects herself, and then bolts forward to Copiycha.
She tips herself over him. "Father. Are you alright?"
It slips out seamlessly. She did not mean to say it.
She wishes to shove it back down her throat the second it falls past her teeth. She bends over Copiycha and drops it on him like a rock. She has never even called Fraewyda the title of Mother. She has never called the family she has never had anything at all.
Her father must sense her terror, or at least see the white of her eyes, because he says. "Easy," and,
"I'm just fine. You may call me what you please, Dawntrail. I'm happy to be it to you."
She gazes down upon the man who is her father where he lies dusty in the dirt.
She starts to cry.
