One of the things I miss the most about working was marching in the SF Pride parade with my coworkers.

A lazy Caturday afternoon after wild adventures last night. The resident 15-year-old left the front door open all night. Bebita roamed who knows where for who knows how long. Husband found her without a collar and with a very poofed tail this morning.

A very naughty tortie-tabby female looks at the viewer with guilt in her eyes. Does she feel remorse? Absolutely not!

The black tuxedo male on the viewer’s right, regards us with the eyes of someone who says, “See! I was a good boy!”

There is an old SF tradition of dressing crazy & knocking around nerf balls with golf clubs the Sunday before Memorial Day. This year I got to hold Chi Sia’s leash!

There are only a few hard & fast rules in The Hope House: cleanup after yourself, no outside shoes inside, and Churu must be given promptly every morning.

It’s hard to be knittin’ when your lap’s full of kitten.

Ballena Bebita, a tortie-tabby female cat sits on my lap. She is sniffing the knitting in my right hand. Her orange collar is visible.

I’m glad orange looks good on her. It shows she is an indoor-only cat. She has to stay indoors. She has no fear, and she is an escape artist. And the raccoons in SF are ENORMOUS! And they will kill a kitten. So no outside without the leash.

I finished knitting the Worsted Ripple Crop Top by Jessie Maed; however, mine is not cropped, and I knitted it in DK weight yarn. It hasn’t been washed or blocked. And I’m planning to dip-dye it with an ombré effect – scarlet to dark purple.

OK. Enough doomscrolling the news for now. Spanish practice and then a three-needle bind off for the shoulder seams on the Ripple (not-so) Crop Top. Here is an old photo of Beloved Otto Von Sweetums for my friends to enjoy.

My massive baby, Beloved Otto Von Sweetums. Otto was an enormous, 23 pound, mostly Siamese cat. In this photo, his left paw is draped over my daughter’s Domo plushie. Otto appears to be giving the viewer a sly look. His baby blue eyes are mere slits in his face. Both cat and plushy are on top of a plaid blanket.

For the uninitiated, “Beloved” is added to the pet’s name when he or she dies.

This photo causes my daughter no end of giggle-fits to this very day. Turns out that Domo Kahn was horribly afraid of cats. She titled this photo “Domo’s Nightmare.” Photo taken around Summer 2012.
