Two groups, both claiming to be local residents and businesses, have popped up in opposition for each of the Dufferin and Bathurst transit-only surface routes. But if both groups claim to be locals, why are their names and the text on their websites almost exactly the same?

Opening text of the ‘Protect Dufferin’ website reads:

PROTECT DUFFERIN
“This isn't just a transit route
— it's our home. The City is rushing through major changes to Dufferin Street: removing all street parking and adding 24/7 bus-only lanes — with no plan to support the thousands of residents who rely on curb lane access for everyday life. We support better transit, but not at the cost of basic access and livability on our residential street.”
