For me it would be the other way around. 😋 I love that Afrikaans often has a more descriptive alternative for words than Dutch. Rough translations: Moped = growling pony Lollypop = suck stick Dutch often just grabs the English word and leave it at that, which is lazy and boring.

Tomorrow is October 1st, a great time to start reading Roger Zelazny's excellent A NIGHT IN THE LONESOME OCTOBER! There's a short chapter for every day of the month, like a literary Halloween advent calendar. It's a charming supernatural mystery told from a dog's POV.

For the first time in quite some time I got to play an 18xx again! Also, two friends have separately played Wormholes and have since wanted to design a stock trading expansion for it, which is a very strange coincidence. 🤔
