Binge-ing Netflix slop, we found ourselves watching the Sandman tv series. I am one of those irritating folks now able to say: "Well, I *never* liked Neil Gaiman." Watching the series reminded me that isn't true. I *loved* Sandman as a teen. But fell out of that love when I started writing. 1/

Almost a decade ago I posted on Facebook announcing a published story that had a rhino, and I wrote that if you didn't read it you didn't care about animal conservatism. This led to someone writing hundreds of words scolding me they refused to read it because it was emotional blackmail.
