This was a fun collaboration between Ophélie & the @seegerlab.bsky.social using sybody libraries to target the SMC complex in living bacteria. With a suprising finding: the 14 isolated sybodies bind to the middle of the SMC coiled coil rather than the more conserved ATPase heads.

Proud to see our DMS paper out in @nchembio after going through a productive review process🥳EfrCD's drug efflux activity profile determined for >1400 single variants. Identified single mutations that convert the exporter into a drug-specific ABC importer! nature.com/articles/s4158…

Our latest preprint is out🥳We performed DMS on EfrCD to determine the drug efflux activity profile of 1539 single variants! Many interesting findings🔎, amongst which, that single mutations (!) can convert the exporter into a drug-specific ABC importer! doi.org/10.1101/2021.1…
