This year's El Niño continues its climb into uncharted waters; Niño3.4 region anomalies are now at a 3.4C above normal (how fitting!), higher than any prior El Niño event on record. September monthly Niño3.4 anomalies also set a record at 2.9C (beating 2015 and 1877's 2.75C).

Exporters would welcome a lower Ausdollar. It might increase employment (heaven forbid) and grow the economy off its 2% annual growth. Yes, it would increase import costs, but we don’t need more EVs and TVs. But Data centres need imported computers, and they’ve captured govt imagination now. #auspol

So maybe you can’t do a lot about climate change, but your vote counts in 2 ways. Keeps MPs on their toes, and help bring some mitigation strategies to your electorate: rock walls, water use reduction, better creek and river maintenance, less outfall into oceans, more levees, more fire fighters.
