I’m not sure how much lamb they eat in the US but prices there have rocketed. Makes Aussie lamb very cheap.

Is this the most egregious PR for a casino of all time? And the bloody @Salvos are complicit. Sure, destroy people’s lives through gambling, but the Salvos want your donations! In today’s Age.

Bloody over it by day’s end as yet another media outlet declares “rate rise looms as economy grows faster than expected.” Its 2.1%. It’s falling. It’s anaemic. It’s propped up by migration. No need to lift interest rates, but sure, let’s accept the RBA as the gurus, #Auspol

Govts of all sorts for many years have been overseeing the long term reduction in rate of growth of Australia’s gdp…and our wages keep falling…but we keep electing them. Try community independent for change? #Auspol

Melbourne’s very expensive Scotch College principal defends (in The Age) anti-abortion lecture to his boys. Stand by as Nazis, terrorists, mysogonists, ethnic cleansers ask for the right to be part of “different perspectives.” #Auspol

If the RBA and Govt cant grow the economy faster than this anaemic rate, they both should retire gracefully. Fancy thinking rate rises are needed when growth is constrained AND falling. #Auspol

I have serious doubts that the useless mob known as Australian Bureau of Statistics will provide useful data from the census. I was interviewed in March and May for casual roles and heard nothing until after the event, and today I also got this via email and text.

All you WA farmers who said the sky would fall down if live export was stopped can be comforted by the fact that, adjusted for inflation, mutton and lamb prices are at record levels. You can now stop the whining. Data from Episode 3.

This rain is something. The system seems to have stranded over Adelaide and is doing donuts! 25mm rain since lunch and another 10 or so come. Flinders Ranges gorges are running like the Fitzroy River.

ABC TV News 7pm says ramping is at "record levels." Here's the graph that puts it in context, something the producers and editors seem to have overlooked. It's the third year in a row ramping in July was lower than the year before. #Auspol

#4Corners says it went to Ghana to “follow the supply chain” but it used video from activists it could not verify. No mention of govt corruption or that cocoa prices have halved in 2 years and production fell 50%. This is an important story, and families are being exploited, but it can’t have gaps.

#ABC news 24 always asks banking economists (like Jo Masters (r)) about weekly ABS economic reports and they always say inflation (3.6%) is too high, suggesting rates must rise. Why not interview a single mum agency, a welfare group, anyone who says there must be a better way? #Auspol

#insiders being taken for a ride. Four days ago no-one had heard about Telehealth for assisted dying, which will affect a handful of people a year, now it’s squeezed out all other serious debate. ALP will be delighted no one is questioning how it’s governing! #Auspol

The #Ausalert is a disaster. The Minister says the technology is better than available to States, but states issue warnings, not the Feds. The govt should make the tech available to states. Also it’s being rolled out in parallel…confusing much? DV survivors have to turn their phones off! #Auspol

#adelaide airport Pantry coffee shop. $20 for 1 large, 1 regular Chai. $6.50 for banana bread. In 1 hour customers cleaned own tables, floor not cleaned and they've introduced machines to reduce staff. Inflation is not a wages problem - it's greedy rent seekers.

“Largest increase in peacetime budget…” says Conroy. $117bn. Defence on forward estimates. Defence inflation (see attached) is about x4 2001 to now. His budget is equivalent of $41bn… clearly lower than previous spend. Lying about defence…building trust! #Auspol #NPC
