I live in Cambridge Mass and have noticed recently that the other big issue here with mandatory minimums is that they charge tenants 2 to 300 per month for these spaces, so they choose the permit which is $25 per year and the lot sits half empty too. Cars ruin cities.

I was a buyer for aerospace and there’s hundreds of these widgets that are made by a single manufacturer with a year or longer wait time that they need for fighter jets. Machinists are all aging out too and retiring.

People who claim bikes are dangerous w/o mentioning that the danger comes from cars is like claiming an induction cooktop is dangerous because someone might fling a pot of boiling water at you. Sure the cooktop got you to the place of danger, but the danger is from an entirely different actor.

We've had a number of older pedestrians and cyclists killed by drivers recently in Massachusetts, and something I've noticed is how those deaths are treated even more dismissively than usual because of ageism and ableism. People of *all* ages and abilities deserve safe mobility.

I often ride alone and love the freedom of it. Eat when I want, go farther if I am up for it, or head home early if not. I am slow so groups are not always fun.
