With any luck my curse will continue. Every company* I’ve worked at has gone under or been bought and dissolved within 5 years of my departure. My last one didn’t even take a year! 💪 *Chegg is somehow on 5.5 years but they’ve been on life support for the last 4.5 so still counting them

It’s easier to take when it’s because the company isn’t doing well but when it’s not actually to save money (they’re spending more on the agency and AI tokens) but just move it from one budget to another so the stock will go up like $1 and rich men will get bonuses

It's why we need to pressure cities into creating or expanding mental health crisis units, staffed by folks, not cops, specifically trained on how to deal with these situations. Cops are ill-equipped for situations like these and sadly they can escalate the only way they know: shooting at people.

She ended up going over with another friend to make sure he was alive because he turned his phone off and stopped responding to anyone. Thankfully he didn’t hurt them and they convinced him to go to the hospital so he can get the help he needs But yes let’s increase police budgets! 🙄

"Free Palestine" and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with. I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood.
