After a years long search for a copy, Mad Angler Press would like to formally introduce a 4K/HD scan of GUNSIGHT Phase 0, a text that is a cornerstone as to how we understand Mobile Suit Gundam's lore today. To view the text, please visit below:

The front cover of GUNSIGHT - Phase 0, illustrated by a young Haruhiko Mikimoto, in 1979. Gunsight served as the bedrock for understanding lore about 0079's universe and Mobile Suit Gundam and was released during Comiket 13. The text served as the basis for canonizing said lore for Gundam Century, was read actively by Studio II and Sunrise staff, praised by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, and has become indefinitely rare to acquire.

Scanned and uploaded for the first time in history by Mad Angler Press and Chris de la Bigne, for insight into your future.

The computer image is from Hiroshi Sasaki's Texture-X, a CD-ROM that Gainax published (during their big CD-ROM phase) with a variety of images and textures he created. Sasaki did background art and served as art director for titles like Roujin Z, Gunbuster, and the never-made Gainax film Route 20.

Yeah, all things considered they wrapped up things pretty well. I think if anything, the last few episodes felt a lot more interesting than the preceding 10 or so.

Also, in regards to all those unused mecha designs. That they were rescued and cataloged at all is thanks to the efforts of Roger Harkavy. Had he not figured that out, they'd likely have disappeared forever. You can find some of those materials in Udon's ROBOTECH Visual Archives books.

Screenwriter Sukehiro Tomita has said that Mospeada's "loser/underdog" atmosphere was a part of the original pitch by Kakinuma and Aramaki. It certainly helped to set the series apart from its peers. (Psst, you can read that interview with Tomita on our Patreon www.patreon.com/cw/zimmerit)

Plenty of acclaimed series faced early cancellations (Gundam, Macross) but Mospeada feels like the most tantalizing "what if" scenario, had the longer series run followed through. Huge amounts of unused designs were being sketched throughout the series' run.

Our latest original resin kit is option parts for building a Smartgun similar to something you may have seen in some ‘80s Gundam manga. Multi-media kit, meaning it comes with brass parts and vinyl hose.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is.

Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.

Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.

an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

The cutest mech I ever made. (featuring a scratchbuilt rotary cannon and an original sculpt for the pilot) #miniatures

A large white ball on short legs. It has a door in the front open (down), with a pilot sitting there.
The nearest leg has pink stripes on it.

View from the opposite side, showing a three-barrel rotary cannon. It has a massive ammunition drum behind it and a belt running around.
There is a pink line on the concrete floor.

View from the back. The ball is largely white.

And, some more - I finally got some casting done, and am starting to build an army to inhabit the megastructure. #miniatures

Four soldiers in winter clothes, three of them in longcoats and chestplates.
Two are wearing Soviet gas masks (different types). One is wearing full body armor and a winter hat.
All armor is ceramic white.

View from the back.
The armored one is carrying a massive red fire axe on the shoulder.

Group photo of these four with a ball mech from the previous post.

Convinced that Ridley Scott has zero clue what made his films work or even a shred of a clue of why they were beloved. Can’t think of a director with a worse record on sequels… Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator… all duds.
