The first fanart for @blacotaku1.bsky.social and @animekickback's Hyperlink Series weekly streams on Instagram. In short, Ryan said how they have a lot of meat on their chests and I compared their chests to the #captainamerica @realrobliefeld.bsky.social drawing, which gave me this idea. #marvel

Looking Back on Newtype USA 15 Years Later

Once upon a time (or, before internet access was as accessible as it is today) anime magazines played a key role in keeping anime fans plugged in to what was going on in the anime industry. Bigger, bolder, and glossier than its competition, Newtype USA was easily among the most popular anime publications in the west before suddenly going out of print in 2008.

deliciousweebreformed on IG posted a clip of どチンピラ (Dochinpira) OVA which has an absolutely hilarious dub. A lot of people don't know, that it had 20 live action B movie adaptations. Same premise of the OVA but absolutely a little more raw than it's anime counterpart. #anime #OVA #physicalmedia

here is what I hate about watching current-season anime on Amazon prime. I frequently see the green text here, touting the series's ranking. Great! Where is the top 10 list??? because I cant fuckin find it!

a screenshot of amazon prime video, featuring Magilumiere: Magical Girls Inc. The screen indicates that it is #5 in anime TV shows.

I swear, one day something Kineko Video did will manage to find its way into an official anime release, and it will be a well deserved accomplishment for this group.

Took time, patience, a fair amount of luck, and a little $$$, but I've managed to get a PAL LaserDisc copy of Robotech: The Movie passed through a Domesday Duplicator. Not *perfect* (at least visually), but it didn't need to be. The audio however, is what makes it all worthwhile...

Well, a ton of Discotek stuff is OOP now. I'm especially sad to see Saint Tail & Lady Georgie on this list, as they're some of the rare shoujo titles they've picked up, and it doesn't seem like they were really out that long! 😭 So snag em if you find em while you can, I guess....
