Fun fact - I did not know who Julie d’Aubigny was and had accepted the story just on the strength of the amazing storytelling before I even realised she was real! But that just made it even more of a joy.

C'est moi! If you know me then you know I've been obsessed with Julie d'Aubigny for ages. And this story about her is completely true and not embellished in the slightest. ;)

The life of Julie d’Aubigny

The first print orders of the first book from Scylla Publishing have officially been placed. It took exactly a year to get our first book to market, but we will quadruple that (at least) in the next year. We are a publisher. I need to write this so I can look back in 5 years and celebrate Sep 30.

Please people, help me. I need a rec for sapphic or lesbian gaslamp fantasy-hopepunk, cyberpunk, steampunk, paranormal, I care not. Any heat level. Trad or indie, couldn't care less. I can't find anything. Where are our sapphic authors who can be comped with Gail Carriger? #booksky

Sorry to say pointing to the same few hit books that have been published in lesbian SFF by trad publishers over the past TEN YEARS is not a way of proving that big trad publishing is open to sapphic/lesbian authors or stories. But it does prove we can write excellent books when given the chance.
