Look at the generic ballot. Dems are picking up voters for gov and senate who are voting GOP for the other positions. This is not a turnout story, it’s a ticket-split story. I’d argue that Talarico and Hinojosa are doing the right things, and it helps that Paxton and Abbott are especially odious.
