I'll be 38 in exactly six months and holy shit... Folks in Schaumberg saw at 35 during Combo Breaker and there's no fucking way this is normal.

Motivated by @deegee2009.bsky.social to comment about physical media or lack of for Metroid Dread. As products get discontinued and second-hand is a solution, it is sad to see people will pay a premium unless a re-release is confirmed before Ravenous. From urban legend to reality... to ́lost art.

Both the Regular and Special Editions of MercurySteam's Metroid Dread (2021) along with MaxFactory's figma of Samus Aran (Dread Ver.)

Rare becoming a support studio for a publisher focused on the most generic breed of shooters after pioneering console shooters with GoldenEye and Perfect Dark in the 90's is a sad irony. Banjo-Kazooie: Guns & Bullets?

Sometimes, we just need to clear it all out.

They were just done working on Possessor under Devolver. Heart Machine always had some sort of struggle since HLD which needed a partial overhaul to run at 60 fps, but you didn't remember. Really sad to see the potential evaporate, and I do hope the engineers and artists will be safe.

Physical copies of Dread are most likely discontinued so this is the only option. A great entry point before Ravenous, and it’s great before and/or after Silksong.

Elena Rybakina n'aura pas volé ce US Open. Si Aryna Sabalenka avait encore un capital de sympathie, ça s'évapore.

Going live! Time to discuss the heck out of Ravenous while revisiting Dread! twitch.tv/scolioreset

Also we live in a timeline where we may get Silksong’s DLC a little before or after Metroid Ravenous so… good! Best timeline really…

I love how each 2D Metroid game post-Super had a subtitle for the theme. Fusion was Samus dealing with the Metroid DNA. Dread was if that power could awaken and disrupt one’s identity on top of its consequences. Ravenous implies hunger, but also that continuous lust for power in the universe.

I’m not as excited for Ravenous as I was for Dread since it was an urban legend for almost 15 years despite being a reality somewhere. I was fine with Dread being the last 2D Metroid game for a while. Prime 4 can be dropped in the void for all I care. This is the 2000’s all over again for Samus.

Alex Armont @scolioreset.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Also this makes Samus in Smash Bros completely outdated!

Glad to see more Layton though. Aside from this, the new Kirby game and Metroid, this was a mediocre Direct at best.

Square offering a decent price for a full trilogy of games including their upcoming release is pro-consumer in the best way possible, and a huge surprise considering how scummy they can be.

“Be Strong enough to be gentle.” Peter Cullen tells the story of how his brother inspired the voice he would use to play Optimus Prime. It’s a simple yet poignant quote that sums up why Optimus and Peter are so beloved. Til All Are One. 💔

Having just watched The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), I can safely say that it might equal Casino as one of the worst Scorsese films I’ve seen so far. The dissonance and tonal shifts in comedy and drama make the film extremely boring. Even the safety cards don’t save it.

At the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum, Van Gogh painted from memory and imagination—fields, stars, and wind. From his bedroom window came The Starry Night (June 1889): turbulence turned to vision, the sky alive with motion and faith.

Yup. It sure is impressive with the strength and weakness of the film stock. I’m privileged to have experienced the way it was meant to be. It reinforces the intended visuals, but it does amplify some issues for the editing and effects. It gave a new appreciation of the entire work on display.
